Peppered melon steak

Peppered Melon Steak

Yup, I’m at it again! Digging around the kitchen wondering… hmmmmm I bet this will work and abracababra it does! Tres tasty folks!

2 fillet steaks

1/2 cantalope melon – chopped very finely

1/2 tsp. chopped garlic

1 tsp. Sarsons Malted clear vinegar

1 tsp. of ground black pepper (I used the mixed pepper)

100ml single cream

1 tsp. olice oil.

Personally I always make the sauce first since I’m not a fan of well cooked meat – mine I like with a teeny weeny pulse! and I can control a nice rarish steak at the last point of preparation.

In a pan heat the oil and garlic for 2ms on medium heat.

Add the melon, what’s so great about melon is that after cooking it for 5ms it dissolves and creates it’s own sauce because of all the water in it. Add the vinegar and pepper and then remove from heat and slowly stir in cream. Return to heat and cook on low for 5ms.

In another pan or griddle, cook your steak, for me it’s 3ms each side on medium and that gives it a lovely juicy pinkness. Now I have deliberately served this dish with gherkins because honestly, these flavous somehow go together purfikly! The melon and the gherkin is a bit weird but it truly tastes lovely! Enjoy!
